California Notaries will take any foreign passport as long as it is stamped
CA Notaries will take any foreign passport as long as it is stamped. They require no other criteria. The only foreign passport I have heard of that may work is a Bahamian passport. Apparently is has the occupation, height, eye color, and even has a line for “special peculiarities”.

If you accept foreign passports as a California notary public, the passport needs to have a

photograph, physical description, signature, and an identifying number.
Most (all) passports have a photograph, and a long 10 digit serial number. However, what about a physical description and signature? I never paid attention to this. Do most foreign passports have this? It is necessary for notarization since you need to compare signatures.
Additionally, the passport needs to be / have been stamped by the US immigration and naturalization service, or US citizenship and immigration services.

I was contracted to do a loan signing on Saturday April, 21, 2012 in Santa Cruz for a refinance loan documents. Being a mobile notary I am used to accepting assignments to drive to their home on a beautiful Saturday in Santa Cruz County.
